"Ayrilik" Resurfaces (This Time in Saudi)

The 13-part Turkish television series "Separation: Palestine in Love and War"("Ayrilik") has been sold to a Saudi and an Emirati television channel. The television series ran on state television in Turkey last year, and along with the "Valley fo the Wolves" ("Kurtlar Vadisi") series, drew scorn from Israel and eventually resulted in the Ayalon affair this past January. The series documents Israeli soldiers shooting Palestinian civilians, killing a newborn baby girl and an elderly man making their way back from Mecca. The first broadcast on the Saudi channel shows tonight. Jenny White has analysis of the series at Kamil Pasha, including a glimpse of some of the violence via a link provided by Ha'aretz.
