Iraq President Jalal Talabani tried his best to win the favor of his Turkish hosts, but made clear his recommendation that if Turkey is serious about a long-term solution to the PKK, it must engage the KRG in official, direct talks. Talabani also condemned the PKK and encouraged Turkey to bid for Iraqi contracts. For an analysis of Talabani's visit, see Gareth Jenkins in today's Eurasia Daily Monitor.
He seemed to take his snub lightly.
