The Usual American Stumbling

The Eurasia Daily Monitor's Gareth Jenkins takes a look at U.S.-Turkish relations post the recent pullout and assesses the old rumors of U.S. collusion with the PKK. In the past week, I have been approached by three people (meaning I did not solicit them per my usual), all of whom asked me why the United States insisted on supporting the PKK. One asserted the familiar conspiracy theory that the United States is using the PKK as a means to carving out a greater Kurdistan, a client state by which the U.S. can perpetuate its addiction to cheap oil (which, incidentally and contra Turkish belief, is not so cheap anymore).
